Getting Started

Custom fields let you collect and display additional information about your operators that isn't included in the standard fields. For example, you might want to track minimum deposits, maximum bets, welcome bonuses, or any other operator-specific details.

What you can do with custom fields:

  • Create custom field definitions that appear on all operator forms
  • Add different types of fields: text, numbers, URLs, dropdowns, switches, or lists
  • Organize fields into groups and reorder them by dragging
  • Use custom fields in your listings
  • Override column displays to show custom field values instead of standard fields

Note: Custom fields are available on paid plans (Hobby tier or higher). Free tier users can use the standard operator fields.

Creating Custom Fields

Before you can add custom field values to operators, you need to create field definitions. These definitions determine what type of information you'll collect and how it's displayed.

Accessing Custom Fields

  1. Navigate to Settings from your dashboard
  2. Click on Custom Fields in the settings menu
  3. You'll see your existing custom fields (if any)

Note: You can also navigate to Custom Fields from the Operators page by clicking the Custom Fields button in the top-right corner.

Creating a New Field

  1. Click the Create Field button
  2. Fill in the field information:
    • Field Name: The label that will appear on operator forms (e.g., "Minimum Deposit" or "Welcome Bonus")
    • Field Type: Choose from:
      • Text: For any text information
      • Number: For numeric values
      • URL: For web links
      • Switch: For true/false values
      • Dropdown: For a set of predefined options (you'll define the options)
      • List: For multiple text values
    • Operator Types: (Optional) Select which operator types this field applies to. You can choose one or more types — Casino, Sportsbook, Forex Broker, Other. Leave all unchecked to make it a universal field that appears for all operator types.
    • Group: (Optional) Assign the field to a group to keep related fields together. Only shown if you have created at least one group.
    • Options: If you chose "Dropdown" type, add the available options (press Enter after each option)
    • Required: Check this box if the field must always have a value
  3. Click Create to save the field

Field Types Explained

  • Text: Use for any written information like descriptions, notes, or general details
  • Number: Use for numeric values like amounts, limits, or counts
  • URL: Use for web links that should be clickable
  • Switch: Use for true/false, yes/no values
  • Dropdown: Use when you want to limit values to a predefined set of options (e.g., "Low/Medium/High")
  • List: Use for multiple text values (e.g., features, support options)

Operator Type Filtering

Custom fields can be configured to appear for all operator types or only for specific ones. A single field can apply to multiple types — for example, a "Welcome Bonus" field could be relevant to both Casino and Sportsbook operators.

Universal Fields (Default):

  • Leave all operator types unchecked when creating the field
  • Appear on all operator creation and edit forms regardless of type
  • Use for fields that apply to all operators (e.g., "License Number", "Founded Year")

Type-Specific Fields:

  • Check one or more operator types when creating or editing the field
  • Only appear when creating or editing operators of a matching type
  • A field selected for both Casino and Sportsbook will appear on both, but not on Forex or Other operators
  • Examples:
    • Casino fields: "Game Count", "Progressive Jackpots", "Live Dealer Games"
    • Sportsbook fields: "In-Play Betting", "Number of Sports", "Cash Out Available"
    • Casino + Sportsbook fields: "Welcome Bonus", "No Deposit Offer"
    • Forex fields: "Leverage Ratio", "Minimum Trade Size", "Trading Platform"

How It Works:

  1. When creating an operator without a type selected, only universal fields appear
  2. When using the type-specific creation button (Casino, Sportsbook, etc.), universal fields and all fields that include that type appear
  3. When editing an existing operator, universal fields and all fields matching that operator's type appear
  4. If you change an operator's type, the form will show different custom fields on the next edit

Tip: Use multi-type fields for information that's relevant to more than one operator category, rather than duplicating field definitions.

Organizing Fields with Groups

Groups let you bundle related custom fields together. On operator forms, each group appears as a collapsible section so users can focus on what they need without being overwhelmed by a long list of fields.

Creating a Group

  1. Go to Settings > Custom Fields
  2. Click the Add Group button (top-right)
  3. Type a group name (e.g., "Bonuses", "Compliance", "Technical Details")
  4. Press Enter or click Add

Assigning Fields to a Group

There are two ways to assign a field to a group:

While creating or editing a field:

  1. Open the Create or Edit field form
  2. Select the group from the Group dropdown
  3. Save the field — it will move to that group immediately

By drag and drop:

  1. On the Custom Fields settings page, drag any field row by its grip handle (⋮⋮)
  2. Drop it into the desired group section
  3. The new order and group assignment saves automatically

Reordering Groups and Fields

  • Reorder groups: Drag the group header by its grip handle to change the order groups appear
  • Reorder fields within a group: Drag field rows within a group section
  • Move a field between groups: Drag a field from one group and drop it into another — or back into the ungrouped area at the top

All changes save automatically when you finish dragging.

Collapsing Groups in Settings

Click the chevron (› / ∨) on a group header to collapse or expand it. Collapsed groups still show a field count so you can see at a glance how many fields are inside.

Deleting a Group

  1. Click the trash icon on the group header
  2. Confirm the deletion

Note: Deleting a group does not delete its fields. All fields in the deleted group become ungrouped and remain available on operator forms.

Adding Values to Operators

Once you've created custom field definitions, they automatically appear on all create and edit operator forms.

When you have many custom fields, the form includes tools to help you navigate:

  • Search: Type in the search box to filter fields by name across all groups
  • Expand all / Collapse all: When you have two or more groups, a toggle button appears next to the search box to expand or collapse all groups at once
  • Groups: Click a group header to expand or collapse that section individually

Groups start collapsed by default, so you can open only the sections you need.

Adding Custom Field Values

  1. Go to the Operators section
  2. Create a new operator or edit an existing one
  3. Scroll down to the Custom Fields section
  4. Expand any groups you want to fill in
  5. Fill in the values for each field
  6. Click Save to store the values

Note: Custom field values are stored with each operator. Different operators can have different values for the same custom field.

Editing Custom Field Values

  1. Edit the operator as you normally would
  2. Find the Custom Fields section
  3. Update any values you want to change
  4. Save the operator

Important: When you update custom field values, those changes automatically sync to all listings that include that operator, just like standard operator fields.

Using Custom Fields in Listings

Custom fields are used in listings through column overrides. This allows you to display custom field values in existing columns by overriding which field is shown.

Column Overrides with Custom Fields

One powerful feature of custom fields is the ability to override which field is displayed in a column. This lets you show custom field values in columns that normally show standard fields.

Understanding Column Overrides

Column overrides allow you to change what information appears in a specific column. For example, you could make the "Bonus" column show a custom "Welcome Bonus" field instead of the standard bonus field.

Setting Up a Column Override

  1. Edit your listing
  2. In the column configuration section, find the column you want to override
  3. Click on the dropdown with the column name
  4. You'll see two groups:
    • Custom Fields: Your custom fields
    • Core Fields: Standard operator fields (name, rating, bonus, etc.)
  5. Select the field you want to display in that column
  6. An arrow icon (↔) appears next to overridden columns
  7. Save your listing

Example: If you have a "Welcome Bonus" custom field and want it to appear in the "Bonus" column:

  1. Find the "Bonus" column in your listing configuration
  2. Click the dropdown
  3. Select "Welcome Bonus" from the Custom Fields group
  4. The Bonus column will now show your custom Welcome Bonus values instead

Resetting Column Overrides

To restore a column to its original field:

  1. Click the dropdown for the overridden column
  2. Select the original field name (it will show "(Default)" next to it)
  3. The column will revert to showing its original field

Tip: Not all columns can be overridden. Some columns like logos or complex composite columns are protected to prevent display issues.

Operator Type Filtering in Column Overrides

The custom fields shown in the override dropdown are automatically filtered based on the operators you've selected for the listing. If your listing contains only Casino operators, only Casino-specific and universal custom fields will appear as override options — Sportsbook-only or Forex-only fields are hidden to avoid mismatches.

If you don't see a custom field in the dropdown, check that:

  • The listing includes at least one operator whose type matches that field's type setting
  • Or edit the field definition to include additional operator types or make it universal

Type Compatibility

The system automatically filters which fields can be used in each column based on data type compatibility:

  • Text columns can show: text, numbers, dropdown field values, etc.
  • Array columns (like Features) can only show other array-type fields (List)
  • Some columns are designed for specific data types and will only show compatible fields

If you don't see a field in the dropdown, it means that field type isn't compatible with that column.

Managing Custom Fields

Viewing Your Custom Fields

The custom fields settings page shows all your fields, organized by group. Ungrouped fields appear at the top. For each field you can see:

  • Field name
  • Field type
  • Operator type scope (e.g., All Types, Casino)
  • Whether it's required
  • Edit and Delete buttons

Editing Custom Fields

  1. Find the custom field you want to edit
  2. Click the Edit button (pencil icon)
  3. Update the field name, type, group, or options
  4. Click Update to save

Important: Changing a field type may affect existing values. For example, changing a "Text" field to "Number" might cause issues if operators have non-numeric values. Be careful when changing field types.

Deleting Custom Fields

  1. Find the custom field you want to delete
  2. Click the Delete button (trash icon)
  3. A confirmation dialog will appear
  4. Confirm the deletion

Warning: Deleting a custom field will:

  • Remove the field from all operator forms
  • Remove all values from operators (this data cannot be recovered)
  • Remove the field from any listings where it's displayed
  • Remove any column overrides that use this field

Note: If a custom field is used in a column override, deleting it will cause that column to revert to its default field automatically.

Troubleshooting

I can't see the Custom Fields option

Issue: Custom Fields doesn't appear in Settings

Solution:

  • Custom fields are only available on paid plans (Hobby tier or higher)
  • Free tier users can use standard operator fields only
  • Upgrade your plan to access custom fields
  • Check your current plan in the billing section

My custom field isn't showing for a specific operator type

Issue: Created a custom field but it doesn't appear when creating/editing certain operators

Solution:

  • Check which operator types are selected on the custom field definition
  • If the field has Casino checked but not Sportsbook, it won't appear for sportsbook operators
  • To make a field appear for all operator types, edit the field and uncheck all operator type checkboxes
  • A field appears when at least one of its selected types matches the operator's type
  • When creating an operator without selecting a type first, only universal fields appear

My custom field isn't appearing on operator forms

Issue: Created a custom field but it doesn't show when creating/editing operators

Solution:

  • Ensure you've saved the custom field definition
  • Refresh the operator form page
  • Check that the Custom Fields section is expanded (groups are collapsed by default)
  • Verify the field wasn't deleted

I can't see a field I assigned to a group

Issue: Assigned a field to a group but can't find it on an operator form

Solution:

  • Groups are collapsed by default on operator forms — click the group header to expand it
  • Use the search box in the Custom Fields section to find the field by name
  • If you have multiple groups, use "Expand all" to open everything at once

I can't select a custom field in column overrides

Issue: Custom field doesn't appear in the dropdown when setting up column overrides

Solution:

  • Ensure the custom field type is compatible with the column type
  • Text columns can show text, number, URL, or dropdown fields
  • Array columns (like Features) can only show List fields
  • Some columns (like logos) cannot be overridden

I deleted a custom field by mistake

Issue: Accidentally deleted a custom field

Solution:

  • Unfortunately, deleted custom fields and their values cannot be recovered
  • You'll need to recreate the field definition
  • All operator values for that field have been removed
  • Any listings using that field will need to be updated
  • Consider being more careful with deletions, or create a backup of important data

Custom field values aren't updating in my listings

Issue: Changed custom field values but listings still show old values

Solution:

  • Ensure you saved the operator after updating custom field values
  • Wait a moment for changes to sync
  • Refresh the listing preview or page
  • Check that you're editing the correct operator
  • Verify the listing is actually using that custom field (check column configuration)

I want to change a custom field type

Issue: Need to change from one field type to another

Solution:

  1. Edit the custom field definition
  2. Change the field type
  3. Save the changes
  4. Be aware that existing operator values won't be automatically updated:
    • If you change "Text" to "Number", operators with non-numeric values will cause validation errors when you try to edit them
    • If you change "Select" to "Text", existing values remain but you lose the dropdown constraint
    • You'll need to manually update all operators with incompatible values before you can edit them again

Tip: It's often safer to create a new field with the desired type and migrate values manually, then delete the old field.

Column override isn't working

Issue: Set up a column override but it's not showing the expected values

Solution:

  • Ensure the source field (the replace "with" field) has values set on operators
  • Check that operators in the listing actually have values for that custom field
  • Verify the override was saved (look for the arrow icon next to the column)
  • Try removing and re-adding the override
  • Check that the field type is compatible with the column type

Next Steps

Now that you understand custom fields:

  1. Create your first custom field to track additional operator information
  2. Create groups to organize related fields together
  3. Add custom field values to your operators
  4. Use custom fields in your listings to display specialised information
  5. Experiment with column overrides to customise how information is displayed
  6. Keep custom field values up to date so your listings stay current

Custom fields give you the flexibility to track and display exactly the information that matters most to your business. Use them to create more detailed and useful comparison tables for your audience.
