Getting Started
Operators are the foundation of your tablrr database. Each operator represents a gambling operator (casino, sportsbook, or forex broker) that you want to include in your comparison tables and listings.
What you can do with operators:
- Create detailed operator profiles with logos, ratings, and descriptions
- Organize operators by type (casino, sportsbook, forex)
- Duplicate operators to quickly create similar entries
- Search and filter your operator database
- Use operators in multiple listings and tables
- Update operator information once and have it sync across all your listings
Creating Operators
To create a new operator:
- Navigate to the Operators section from your dashboard
- Click the "Add Operator" button (or choose a specific type from the dropdown - see below)
- Fill in the operator information:
- Name: The operator's display name
- Type: Select from Casino, Sportsbook, Forex broker, or Other
- Logo: Upload an operator logo
- Rating: Enter a rating if desired
- Bonus: Enter bonus information if applicable
- Description: Add a description of the operator
- Features: Add key features as tags
- Affiliate Link: Add your affiliate link for this operator
- Tags: Assign one or more operator tags to organize this operator (create tags in Settings > Tags)
- Custom Fields: If you have custom fields set up, they'll appear in a dedicated section at the bottom of the form. Fields are organized into collapsible groups — click a group header to expand it. Use the search box to find a specific field by name, or use the "Expand all / Collapse all" toggle when you have multiple groups. Only fields that match the operator's type (plus universal fields) are shown.
- The system will automatically generate a URL-friendly slug from the operator name
- Click "Save" to create the operator
Quick Type-Specific Creation
For faster workflow, you can use the split button to create operators with a pre-selected type:
- Click the small dropdown arrow (▼) next to the "Add Operator" button
- Select a specific type:
- Casino - Creates a casino operator with casino-specific custom fields pre-loaded
- Sportsbook - Creates a sportsbook operator with sportsbook-specific custom fields pre-loaded
- Forex Broker - Creates a forex operator with forex-specific custom fields pre-loaded
- Other - Creates an "other" type operator with relevant custom fields pre-loaded
- The creation form will open with:
- The type already selected
- Relevant type-specific custom fields displayed (if you have any configured)
- Universal custom fields that apply to all operator types
Tip: Using the type-specific dropdown is faster if you frequently create operators of the same type, as it pre-loads the relevant custom fields for that operator type.
Note: Custom fields allow you to track additional information beyond the standard fields. You can configure custom fields to be universal (shown for all operator types) or type-specific (shown only for specific operator types). Learn more about creating and using custom fields.
Note: Your operator is immediately available to use in listings after creation. You can always edit the information later.
Editing Operators
To update an existing operator:
- Go to the Operators section
- Find the operator you want to edit in the list
- Click the "Edit" button (pencil icon) next to the operator
- Update any of the operator information (including tags)
- You can replace the logo by uploading a new image
- Click "Save" to update the operator
Important: When you update an operator, those changes automatically sync to all listings that include that operator. You don't need to update each listing individually.
Operator Translations
Operator Translations let you translate operator content into multiple languages without creating duplicate operators. This makes it easier to serve localized listings while keeping one operator as the source of truth.
What Can Be Translated
You can translate:
- Name
- Bonus
- Description
- Terms and conditions
- Terms link
- Affiliate link
- Features
- All your custom fields
Note: Logo, slug, rating, type, tags, and operator associations are shared across all locales and are edited only on the original operator.
Adding a Translation
To add a translation to an operator:
- Go to the Operators section
- Edit the operator you want to translate
- Click the language switcher in the top-right corner of the page
- Select Add translation
- Choose a language
- Optionally enable Copy values from original if you want to start from the existing content
- Enter the translated values you want to use
- Click Save [Language]
How Fallback Works
You do not need to translate every field before using a translation.
If a translated field is left empty, tablrr automatically falls back to the original operator content when the listing is rendered. This means you can translate only the fields you need and fill in the rest later.
Editing and Deleting Translations
To edit a translation:
- Open the operator
- Use the language switcher to select the translated locale
- Update the translated fields
- Click Save [Language]
To delete a translation:
- Open the translated locale from the language switcher
- Click Delete translation
- Confirm the deletion
Warning: Deleting a translation removes it permanently. It is not moved to the Trash.
Duplicating Operators
Duplicating an operator creates an exact copy with all the same information, which you can then edit independently. This is useful when you have similar operators that share most of the same details.
To duplicate an operator:
- Go to the Operators section
- Find the operator you want to duplicate
- Click the "Duplicate" button (copy icon) next to the operator
- A new operator named "Operator Name (Copy)" will be created
- Edit the duplicate to update any details that differ
What gets copied:
- All standard fields (name, type, rating, bonus, description, etc.)
- Logo
- Features
- Tags
- Custom field values
- All relationship data (restricted countries, payment methods, etc.)
Note: The duplicate is not added to any listings automatically. You'll need to add it to listings manually.
Note: You can only have one copy of an operator at a time. If a duplicate already exists, you'll need to remove it before duplicating again.
Organizing Operators
As your operator database grows, you'll want to organize and find operators easily.
Searching Operators
- Use the search box at the top of the operators list
- Type any part of the operator name
- Results filter automatically as you type
- Press Escape to clear the search
Filtering by Type
- Use the type filter dropdown
- Select "All Types" to see everything, or choose a specific type:
- Casino
- Sportsbook
- Forex
- The list updates to show only operators of the selected type
Filtering by Tag
- Use the Tags filter dropdown (shown when you have at least one operator tag)
- Select "All Tags" to see every operator, or choose a specific tag
- The list updates to show only operators that have that tag
Managing operator tags: Go to Settings > Tags to create, edit, or delete operator tags. Use the filter to show only Operator tags. Each tag row shows how many operators use it. You can also create a new tag when assigning tags on the operator form by typing a name in the tags field.
Viewing Your Operators
The operators list shows:
- Operator name and type
- Public ID
- Tags (first tag name; if there are more, a "+ N" count)
- Translation locale badges (shown when an operator has translations)
- Number of listings using the operator
- Actions: Edit, Duplicate, and Delete buttons
Operators are displayed in a paginated list, showing 15 operators per page. Use the pagination controls at the bottom to navigate through your operator database.
Deleting Operators
To remove an operator from your database:
- Go to the Operators section
- Find the operator you want to delete
- Click the "Delete" button (trash icon) next to the operator
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears
- The operator will be moved to the Trash
Note: Deleting an operator moves it to the Trash rather than removing it immediately. It will be hidden from your active list and removed from any listings. You can restore it from the Trash if you change your mind.
Note: If you're at your operator limit (free tier users), moving an operator to the Trash frees up space to create a new one.
Trash and Restore
Deleted operators are moved to the Trash instead of being permanently removed. This gives you a safety net if you delete something by mistake.
Viewing the Trash
- Go to the Operators section
- Click the Trash tab at the top of the list
- Any deleted operators will appear here, along with the date they were deleted
- A badge on the Trash tab shows the count of deleted operators
Restoring an Operator
To bring a deleted operator back:
- Switch to the Trash tab
- Find the operator you want to restore
- Click the "Restore" button (undo arrow icon)
- The operator will be moved back to your Active list and re-added to any listings it was part of
Permanently Deleting an Operator
If you're sure you no longer need an operator, you can permanently delete it from the Trash:
- Switch to the Trash tab
- Find the operator
- Click the "Delete" button (trash icon)
- Confirm the permanent deletion in the dialog that appears
Warning: Permanently deleting an operator cannot be undone. All data associated with that operator is removed for good.
Troubleshooting
I can't create a new operator
Issue: "You've reached your operator limit"
Solution:
- Free tier users have a limit on the number of operators they can create
- Delete unused operators to free up space, or
- Upgrade to a paid plan for unlimited operators
- Check your current usage in the billing section
Issue: "An operator with this name already exists"
Solution:
- Each operator name must be unique within your account
- Try adding a distinguishing detail to the name (e.g., "Casino A - UK" vs "Casino A - US")
- Or edit the existing operator instead of creating a duplicate
I can't find an operator I created
Solution:
- Use the search box to search by operator name
- Check the type filter - you might have it filtered to a specific type
- Clear all filters and search terms to see all operators
- Check if you're on the correct page of results (use pagination)
- Check the Trash tab — the operator may have been deleted
My operator logo isn't showing
Issue: Logo not displaying
Solution:
- Ensure the logo file is a supported format (JPG, PNG, or SVG)
- Check that the file size is under 2MB
- Try uploading the logo again
- If the issue persists, the logo may need time to process - wait a few moments and refresh
I want to change an operator's type
Solution:
- Edit the operator
- Change the type in the dropdown
- Save the changes
- The operator will now appear when filtering by the new type
Note: Changing an operator's type doesn't affect existing listings that include it, but it will affect how the operator appears in filtered views.
I accidentally deleted an operator
Solution:
- Go to the Trash tab on the Operators page
- Find the operator and click the "Restore" button
- The operator will be restored to your active list
I can't duplicate an operator
Issue: The duplicate button is replaced with an upgrade icon
Solution:
- Duplicating requires a plan that allows more operators than your current limit
- Upgrade your plan to unlock the ability to duplicate operators
- Check your current plan in the billing section
Issue: "A duplicate of this operator already exists"
Solution:
- You can only have one copy of an operator at a time
- Find the existing duplicate (it will have "(Copy)" in the name) and either delete it or rename it
- Then try duplicating again
